***In an effort to protect the health of all involved, we have made the difficult decision to cancel April's book club meeting. We will be discussing "Little Fires Everywhere" at our regularly scheduled meeting in May. Please stay healthy, stay safe.
Every month, Katie's Cup Book Club chooses moving and poignant stories to highlight the human condition. We meet on the second Thursday of the month at 10 AM and the club is open to the public. Copies of next month's book are available on the day of the meeting in the coffee bar or feel free to bring your own copy.
May's selection: "Little Fires Everywhere" by Celeste Ng
"From the bestselling author of Everything I Never Told You, a riveting novel that traces the intertwined fates of the picture-perfect Richardson family and the enigmatic mother and daughter who upend their lives. In Shaker Heights, a placid, progressive suburb of Cleveland, everything is planned—from the layout of the winding roads, to the colors of the houses, to the successful lives its residents will go on to lead. And no one embodies this spirit more than Elena Richardson, whose guiding principle is playing by the rules. Enter Mia Warren—an enigmatic artist and single mother—who arrives in this idyllic bubble with her teenage daughter Pearl. But Mia carries with her a mysterious past and a disregard for the status quo that threatens to upend this carefully ordered community."
